 Why in Dende's name do I have a blog? As though I don't have enough crap to write? Well, I think that the way I come up with stories is pretty interesting. Of course, I could add an Author's Note to the end of my stories...but frankly 99% of my readers don't care what music I listened to, or what scene specifically made me think this plot was good. So, this thing is probably mostly just to give me a place to pretend to talk about the creative process. Maybe, unlikely but possible, it's to write something interesting about how I write. If that sounds interesting, enjoy!

I think it's not totally clear in canon exactly how much of Vegeta's past Trunks knows. But the scene before the Tournament of Power, where Trunks recognizes Frieza as "that guy who tried to invade the earth once" rather than "that guy who Dad used to work for" tells us that he hasn't been told a whole lot.

Which, I feel for Vegeta. When you haven't had a lot of affection in your life, I imagine it would be hard to risk losing someone who obviously thinks the world of you. But I think we all know it's gonna backfire in the long run.


If anyone is curious about what the hell Frieza is up to, he is following the rough script identified by Robert Jay Lifton in the "thought reform" performed on POWs in the Korean War.

I began writing this story with a few sketches of plot, which turned into a chapter outline. As I started writing it out (and my other stories) I came to realize that the more I pre-plot the better, so now I have the scenes outlined on Novel Factory. Still, some things surprise me even as I begin to write; I didn't expect to have Trunks in his dad's gloves when I started the chapter.
